Toy Swap for plastic toys and alternatives
Sharing and swapping toys lessens the demand for new plastic. You may be going plastic-free, but don’t want to trash toys that are still useful. Bring them to a Toy Swap for ages 1-5.
Sunday, Feb. 2 (9-11 a.m.) Minnesota Toy Library (8 West 60th St., Minneapolis)
The entrance is along West 60th, west of Nicollet, parking across the street.
Bring no-longer-needed toys – plastic or other materials. Take new-to-you items brought by others. You may bring items without taking or take without bringing.
DO bring: Toys and games gently used, still working, all pieces included, appropriate for ages 1-5. Large-motor-development items like trikes are welcome.
DO NOT bring: Broken toys or items too big for one person to carry. Also not accepted are pacifiers, teethers, soft plastic bath items/toys, anything that has been recalled, or vintage toys by brands that have been found toxic. (See https://www.safekids.org/product-recalls )
Please properly clean toys before bringing them to the swap. Use the Toy Library’s cleaning instructions at https://mplstoylibrary.org/toy-cleaning-protocol/
Leftover toys will be donated to the Minnesota Toy Library, or other nonprofits serving children.
