What our members have to say about Reuse Minnesota

Kristen McCoy, RETHINK Tailoring

Green circles behind a black spool of tread with a needle attached."What brought me to Reuse Minnesota is that it’s my mission too. It was kind of a no-brainer that I should be a part of that and get involved with what they’re doing. It’s the exact community that I want to be around."

Joe Odendahl, American Dumpster Rental and Recycling

Blue background with a red bird logo."I would absolutely recommend becoming a member. There's so many resources, things that you'll pick out of a conversation with somebody at a meeting will have a huge impact. Those little things, if you're alert to them, you can pick up a lot, and you'll really become a better reuser yourself, based on the relationships and conversations that you have with members of this organization."

Carmen Paredes Dockry, Mano a Mano International

"We've been working and collecting medical supplies for 30 years, but have never been able to or have resources to go to big events to present who we are. So that has been a really good thing, for helping us getting out there.

Roxanne Sanchez, Nine Lives Thrift

"We joined Reuse Minnesota while we were still in our fundraising stages. What was really valuable as a member was the different networking events. My favorite was, for sure, the speed networking event. It was great to be able to, over a lunch period, meet a bunch of different like- minded folks, other small business owners, folks passionate about reuse, and also practice our elevator pitch; speaking about our vision and our mission and gaining more confidence about what all of our plans were."

Sue Doll, Anoka County

Brown triiangle with a white colored letter C."Working in government for many years, and predominantly helping develop recycling programs, I find it very refreshing to be part of an organization that is totally dedicated to reducing and reusing. This is the highest priority of the waste management hierarchy, yet it hasn’t been a major focus until now. The members represent very diverse industries, many small, yet everyone is passionate about using someone else’s “trash” in creative ways and prolonging the life of resources. Reuse Minnesota has opened my eyes to an amazing array of small businesses and non-profits. Many have built their organization from the bottom up and are transforming the lives of their workers while reducing waste! Having government partner with Reuse Minnesota members can help us both reach our goals."

Jackson Becker, Dakota Valley Recycling

Different colored green arrows chasing each other, with DVR in the center."Being members of Reuse Minnesota has been great to get to know the other members, both on the government side and the private business members. We love attending the tours and meetings when possible, and we get lots of great ideas from both."
