Why do you want to serve on the Reuse Minnesota board? I believe in Reuse Minnesota's vision of reuse centered communities. We have a growing waste problem in this country and have a bad habit of outsourcing the damage by shipping our waste to other countries. We have to start and the state and local level to make reusing and repairing items, so that we can mitigate the long term impacts our trash has on the world.
ANGIULO DAMIANI
Angiulo is a lifelong environmentalist who now gets paid to talk trash as a Multifamily Recycling Specialist with Hennepin County. He co-leads the multifamily recycling program that offers free education and resources to multifamily buildings. He also is responsible for the Choose to Reuse website that hosts a directory of reuse businesses, monthly articles and an event calendar for Hennepin County residents to find local swaps, fix-it clinics and any event related to reuse.
Why do you want to serve on the Reuse Minnesota board? I am interested in being a part of the work that leads to a system where reuse is the norm instead of the exception as it is today. I think I can bring a unique perspective as someone who works in government with a focus on the portion of our society that often gets left out of reuse conversations in multifamily residents. I also believe it will aide me in my work to develop the Choose to Reuse program beyond the website it is now.
SUE DOLL
Sue has worked in county government for 37 years setting up reuse, composting and recycling programs for both internal operations and the public. Reduce and reuse is at the top of the Solid Waste Management Hierarchy, yet Sue has not been able to devote as much time to it as she would have liked. It is the best form of waste management since reducing and reusing does not require any natural resources or wasted food to manufacture products. The products and materials are already there and it takes creativity and commitment to find new homes or purposes for the items.
Most of Sue’s career has been spent on managing, and teaching others about recycling. Once a recycling or organics program is set up, it takes a lot of time and resources to maintain so that is where most of her career has been spent.
Why do you want to serve on the Reuse Minnesota board? As I look to retirement, I would like to focus on my first love, repurposing, fixing and sharing the abundance we all have with each other. I have seen so many reuse programs that are building community, providing employment opportunities to those hardest to employ which gives people and materials another chance. I would like to utilize my many connections in the waste management industry, knowledge of program development and strategic planning to further Reuse Minnesota. I would like to become more involved with reuse programs and increase the awareness of the many businesses out there that can help individuals, families and businesses reuse more and purchase/dispose of less.
COREY DONOVAN
Corey brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the reuse industry and has dedicated his career to advancing the circular economy. Since joining Minnesota-based Alta Technologies as President in 2022, he has helped lead the company's mission to extend the useful life of IT equipment through refurbishment, resale, repair and reuse. Corey is a strong advocate for the idea that reuse should be prioritized whenever possible.
He is also an experienced industry representative and speaker - regularly participating in conferences and discussions about IT reuse, asset disposition and the circular economy, and brings relevant nonprofit board experience. Corey would bring strong business leadership, strategic planning, relationship-building and organizational development skills to the board. He has experience growing businesses and professional networks, developing partnerships and engaging with organizations across an industry. His selection for the Forbes Business Council further reflects his broader business leadership experience.
A University of Minnesota graduate who lives with his family in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, Corey has deep ties to Minnesota and a professional mission closely aligned with Reuse Minnesota's work.
Why do you want to serve on the Reuse Minnesota board? I believe in the mission of Reuse Minnesota, and the impact it can have in furthering sustainability in our state, which is why I've been a participant since the inception of the organization. I believe it is time to commit more of my resources to this organization and look forward to working alongside other aligned leaders.
