Just because it’s broken doesn’t mean it belongs in the trash can! Whether it’s cracked, torn, stained, missing a piece, or just not working properly, broken things can be made good as new with the right skills and tools. WLSSD is partnering with the Duluth Folk School and Duluth Makerspace to host Fixit Clinics where you can learn how to fix your stuff!
Sign up in advance to be paired with a skilled volunteer. Fill out a registration form or call (218) 740-4786 to reserve a time slot and make sure our volunteers are prepared with the right tools and materials to help! Walk-ins welcome but not guaranteed a time slot.
There’s no guarantee your item can be fixed. If it can’t be repaired during the event or requires specialty parts, we’ll help connect you to local professionals or other resources to get your item back in working order.
Practice taking something apart. Kids welcome! The tinker table has broken toys and other things you can try taking apart – what’s on the inside, and how does it work?
Learn a new skill! Every Fix-it Clinic ends with a 30-minute demonstration featuring a repair skill you can try at home.
3:30 – 6:00 p.m.: Fix your stuff! Each registered participant will be assigned a 30-minute time slot; walk-ins welcome but not guaranteed a time slot.
