This free introductory class at Lake Elmo Library will teach you the fundamentals of hand mending, including basic stitching techniques to repair tears, holes, and worn-out seams. Participants will practice hand stitching with various thread types and tools, learning how to extend the life of garments and textiles. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of mending for sustainability and saving money. By the end of the class, you will be confident in your ability to repair clothing and fabric items by hand. Materials will be provided. Feel free to bring small repair projects to work on during class.
This class will be held at the Lake Elmo Library, hosted by the Public Health and Environment Department of Washington County.
