Participants will learn about the different components of zippers; sliders, stoppers, etc. and differentiate the three main types of zippers; vislon, coil, and metal. We will also learn about the different sizes of zippers and their applications, as well as how to tell if a zipper is waterproof or "reverse". We will learn about trouble shooting basic zipper issues such as broken or missing sliders, coil teeth coming loose, and jacket zippers popping open. Participants are invited to bring an item they have with zipper issues for us to learn from and potentially fix in class.

This class is funded by Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's Environmental Assistance Grant Program.

Reuse Minnesota was founded in 2012 and is a member-based nonprofit that supports repair, resale, and rental businesses, bringing visibility to the reuse sector as a means to lower our state's impact on the environment.
