Fraud Prevention Seminar and eWaste Disposal

Minnesota Tech for Success is pleased to partner with Credit Unions Fighting Fraud to present a free Fraud Prevention seminar, eWaste disposal and shredding event on Saturday, August 16th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at East Ridge High School in Woodbury, MN.  

Financial crimes, fraud, and scams are increasingly affecting our communities at an alarming rate. To combat this growing threat, several credit unions, along with Woodbury Public Safety, have partnered to organize this fraud prevention seminar, which will help attendees learn to prevent and protect against scams. This event is open to the public and welcomes attendees of all ages.

Additionally, we're offering secure paper shredding and e-waste disposal services at the event to help you protect your personal information. Bring your unwanted personal documents and e-waste, such as old phones, laptops, and hard drives, for safe and secure disposal. Minnesota Tech for Success is NAID-AAA Certified and R2V3 Certified for data destruction and recycling.

Key Activities:

• 90-Minute educational session on identifying and preventing financial fraud.

• E-Waste Disposal by MTFS: Drop off old electronics, such as cell phones and laptops, for safe recycling. For a full list of our accepted materials, click here.

• Secure Paper Shredding: Attendees can bring sensitive documents for secure disposal in an onsite shred truck (up to 5 bags or boxes per person).

• Info Booths: Learn more about specific types of fraud from participating credit unions.
